We learned this tune from a cassette tape of the long dead and famous Acadian fiddler of Chéticamp, Cape Breton, Joseph Larade. Larade is known for his songs, which he accompanied on his own fiddle, but he also had some great tunes. This is his beautiful arrangement of the Cape Breton tune The Princess Royal. Today in Chéticamp, the young fiddler and singer Robert Deveaux carries on Larade’s tradition of Acadian fiddling and singing.

Had to check the notes to see who else was playing fiddle. Laura’s versatility is astonishing, combined with superb skills from her friends. Not going to choose a favourite track until another ten plays, if then. Please don’t make us wait two decades for more. kinfan
